Our first meet was yesterday at Metro East Lutheran High School in Edwardsville, Illinois. The drive team for the today consisted of Gillian as our drive coach, Reece as our drive train, and Caleb as our claw. We played 5 matches throughout the day. 3 of them we were on the blue alliance with the other 2 being red.

Our alliance partners were the Robo Lions, Orphan Bots, Da Ex Bots, Transistor Titans, and Oops Robotics.  We only lost one of our matches.Our highest score of the day was 154 with Oops. The day wrapped up around 4:00.

Overall, it was a very successful day and a great start to the season.

Last year we went to our last competition of 2016 and our second meet so far. On December 17th, 2016, we went to Whiteside Middle School in Belleville Illinois. We were more successful than our last meet with a working shooter and autonomous.

 Our drivers for this meet were Reece and Dustin. Garrett was a drive coach. We scored top at the meet.  Since this was a meet there was no judging, but there was inspections and interviewing other teams. Meets are basically practices, but there is a Meet Championship near the end. If we advance else where, then it really will be just practices. During this meet, it was very icy outside. When we went to leave, it was very cold and slick. Everyone had to shuffle to get out to their cars.

Overall, this meet was pretty successful. The autonomous worked way better than last time scoring us a lot of points. The particle shooter was less consistent but it was still better than last time. Our next competition will actually be a Qualifier which is coming on 1-6-17! See you then!

Our first meet of the season occurred at Metro East Lutheran High School, on November 12th. We were pretty successful, but met some challenges during the meet.

The Worm Gear Warriors arrived early to help set up the fields. Robo Raiders, team 7129, also helped us set up. Cap balls were inflated and mats pushed into place. It was time to start competing!

This was a meet, so there was no judging or awards. It’s more of a practice than anything. We were competing against many different teams from the Illinois area. At the competition, our TeleOp was working so that in the beginning, we could attempt to score some starting particles, then, we would press all the beacons. We are still working on a ball loader to be able to get more particles. Our autonomous was supposed to score two beacons and knock the cap ball off the center. After that, there was a chance we could get points for parking on the middle. The autonomous, seemed to be drifting and not pushing the beacons like it was supposed to. After the match, we determined the cause was one of the wheels was malfunctioning. The problem is now fixed for next meet.

Overall, the meet was fun and we met some new teams. It was good practice for talking to other teams and for the drivers to be in some matches.We also got candy and pizza, so, a pretty good day. We are now busy working on the robot and prepping for next meet. Until next meet!
